Count's Jam Band Reunion
The Story
"Count's Jam Band Reunion" reunites jazz veteran solo artists Larry Coryell and saxophonist Steve Marcus who collaborated in the 60's for one of the seminal jazz/fusion recordings entitled "The Count's Rock band." Augmented by Steve Smith (Vital Information, Steps Ahead), Kai Eckhardt (John Mclaughlin) with pianist Jeff Chimenti (Rat Dog), Coryell and Marcus lead the group in a high energy set, deeply rooted in organic jazz/fusion. The title track composed by Eckhardt(who played with both McLaughlin and Vital Information) starts as a beguiling jazz number, and evolves into a blistering musical exchange between Coryell and Marcus - in classic '70s fusion style. "Count's Jam Band Reunion" will satisfy fans looking for both open-ended jams and composed pieces.
