Under The Sky
The Story
Fingerstyle guitarist Francis Doughty's 2001 release, "Under The Sky" is a musical journey of 6- and 12-string guitar instrumentals (with some subtle percussion surprises) put together in a blend of exciting, evocative, uplifting and soothing music. The album features ten originals and three arrangements, including an exciting rendition of a classic Kottke song ("Busted Bicycle"), and an evocative arrangement of Carolan's "Sheebeg Sheemore". "Under The Sky" stands out from other offerings with a beautiful, melodious and crisp sound that draws the listener into an emotional connection with the composer/guitarist.
