Frank Gambale
Resident Alien-Live Bootlegs
The Story
"Resident Alien-Live Bootlegs" is a double CD release, the result of several live performances in guitarist Frank Gambale's favorite LA jazz club, the Baked Potato, where he recorded his first live CD in 1987. His club dates occur between tours, and are fun, relaxed, no-pressue performances with intimate audiences. The recordings are the best performances from about 20 shows recorded. Some of the tunes on the album are completely improvised and open, and the format offered Gambale the chance both to shine in a jam atmosphere and deliver an edge-of-your-seat feeling to the listener. "Resident Alien-Live Bootlegs" also features a bonus track, "New Boots", with Allan Holdsworth and Gambale on guitar, previously only available on the deleted "Truth In Shredding" album.
