Money
The Story
You have to hand it to Gary Hoey, he knows how to get the most mileage from the cover songs he chooses for his instrumental CDs. After "Hocus Pocus", "Wipeout" and "Black Magic Woman" the latest is Pink Floyd's "Money", which even serves as the title of Hoey's latest 12 track, all instrumental offering. The CD marks 10 years of collaboration between Hoey and his manager/executive producer Dave Kaplan, and you'll find that the guitarist's sonic trademark has not been tampered with -- hard rock riffs meet surf attitude over a ripping guitar sound. After a year of writing in his home studio, Hoey has emerged with a record that sets his course for the future without forgetting his rock and roll roots.
