The Story
"Collection" is a compilation featuring 10 songs recorded and released by guitarist Larry Carlton between 1978 and 1989 along with two new numbers. "Collection" offers much to savor, from lilting acoustic ballads ("Smiles And Smiles To Go") and bluesy shuffles ("Bubble Shuffle"), to dreamy soundscapes (the haunting version of Santo and Johnny's 1959 hit, "Sleepwalk") and biting improvisations ("Nite Crawler"). "Collection" offers numerous examples of Carlton's unique style, which has long been distinguished by a supple lyricism and deep expressiveness that is nothing if not poetic. The end result is a rich body of music that continues to delight guitar fanaticsand disciminating listeners alike.
