Guido Luciani's third album on the Avalon label is dedicated to the gyspy spirit, musically incorporating elements from many different traditions - Latin rumba, Western pop, jazz and of course, flamenco - the music that originated from the gypsies. Emotionally, however, the music is pure 'gypsy'. Today, the word 'gypsy' brings forth images of bohemian non-conformity and uninhibited free spirit - images that Western audiences are finding more appealing as the perceived demands of everyday life increase.
