Powerful Acoustic Folk

With brilliantly sharp acoustic guitar work igniting his original numbers, New Hampshire based guitarist Joel Cage offers the record buyer a front row ticket to his live performance with his third and latest CD Live: Windmills Are Coming. Featuring seventeen tracks of gripping acoustic folk, the album also includes a solo cover of the Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again", which, despite the reworked arrangement for guitar and voice, retains the spirit and relentless drive of the original. Cage originals such as "Food Chain" and "Rose" move with undeniable energy, propelled by emotionally charged vocals and rhythmically dynamic accompaniment. If talented singer/songwriter/guitarists who can deliver folk music with a great rock vibe sounds appealing, check out Live: Windmills Are Coming at your earliest opportunity.

Joel's approach to his guitar styling, vocals and writing is the culmination of years spent performing with rock'n roll bands, including a three year stint, at a very early age, with the internationally renown touring/recording group Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes. He has two previously released CDs to his credit, "Last Hard Road" (1997) and "Nobody" (1998). Joel has showcased at a number of music festivals, and was the grand prize winner in the folk category in the 1998 John Lennon Songwriting Contest. He has been nominated for several Boston Music Awards in the Outstanding Folk Artist category. Joel also was a nominee for Male Artist Of The Year by Jam Music Magazine Reader's Picks for 2000.

In the coming months Cage will be spending most of his time in the studio recording the upcoming three CDs he plans to release in the year 2001. He will attempt to maintain a rather sparse performance schedule (which means 4-6 gigs a month, instead of 15-20!) in order to accomplish his goals.
