Yngwie J. Malmsteen
Marching Out
The Story
"Marching Out" was the follow up to Swedish guitarist Yngwie J. Malmsteen's "Rising Force" album, and continued to display amazing guitar virtuosity and overall speed, this time accompanied by Jeff Scott Soto on soaring vocals and Anders Johansson on drums (now, joining his brother Jens, who played keyboards on "Rising Force"). "Marching Out" even contains two instrumental tracks, "Overture 1383" and the title track (three, if you count "Prelude"), as well as killer solos throughout. Malmsteen's second solo set a blueprint for many successful albums to follow - predominantly vocal, a couple of instrumentals, neo-classical style with variations, Yngwie's blazing arpeggios and pedal licks, and a constantly shifting team of supporting musicians.
