Scott Henderson
Well To The Bone
The Story
Scott Henderson's "Well To The Bone" is a guitar masterpiece where the guitar does the talking. True, five tracks feature the guest vocals of Wade Durham and Thelma Houston, but with six tracks running over six minutes, one track over seven minutes and one track over eight minutes, the insturmental portions of even the five vocal tracks dominate the release. The five instrumentals include "Hillbilly In The Band" (complete with dog barks), "Ashes", "Sultan's Boogie", "That Hurts", and the eight-plus minute closer "Rituals". Running the gamut from slinky Texas blues to harmonically adventurous forays into uncharted musical terrain, Henderson delivers his most impressive blues-oriented recording to date.
