Steve Morse Band
Southern Steel
The Story
"Southern Steel" featured more exciting guitaristic fusion from Steve Morse, this time augmented by his regular crack rhythm section, consisting of Dave LaRue (bass) and Van Romaine (drums). "Southern Steel" displays phenomenal musicianship on tunes like "Battle Lines", "Weekend Overdrive" and the title track. Also noteworthy is the blazing opening track, which features the guest guitar work of fleet-fingered ex-Night Ranger guitarist Jeff Watson -- the trading of furious solos is not to be missed. Dave LaRue adds some incredible low end and solos for the four-string fans as well. "Southern Steel" is another solid Steve Morse Band release.
